From the desk of Samanthika

I am Samanthika Devalaraju, a senior in JP Stevens High School. I am from Edison, New Jersey and I was inspired to start this non-profit organization under Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital after volunteering at this charity organization for three consecutive years.

After my grandmother had a successful cataract surgery in 2011 at this facility, the doctors showed her around the B-Block or the "free patient" block to explain to her that the money she used to pay for her cataract surgery would be given to these underprivileged villagers who were in desperate need to get their vision fixed. She was awe-struck by this charitable act and thankful to the hospital for using her money to provide vision to those who cannot ask for it. She told me the story of her visit and stay at this hospital and I was eagerly waiting to volunteer at this hospital to understand the unique aspect of giving poor patients free eye surgeries. After three years and donations each summer, I decided to start this organization to continuously fund the hospital's goal of giving vision to those who are incapable and uneducated to demand it. I wish to show my 100% commitment through this organization and I need your help through donations. Thank you so much!
